About KVCV
KVCV, the Royal Flemish Chemical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the chemical sciences in Flanders, Belgium. Established to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among chemists, KVCV serves as a platform for both academic and industrial professionals. It organizes scientific events, lectures, and workshops, promoting research and innovation in various fields of chemistry. With a strong commitment to education, the society also supports young scientists and students, providing them with opportunities for networking and professional growth. KVCV plays a vital role in the development of the chemical community in the region.
KVCV was established in 1939, when the Belgian Chemical Society split in a Flemish- and French-speaking organisation. KVCV has divisions in various chemical domains, as well as a youth division. KVCV is a member society of EuChemS (European Chemical Society), and is also a partner society of the Chemistry Europe publishing initiative. Established events and conferences organised by KVCV are: Kekulé Cycle, ChemCYS (Chemistry Conference for Young Scientists), BOSS (Belgian Organic Synthesis Symposium) and MedChem.
